After you add a product, you can use supplier's information, images and leave the product as it is, or you can customize it to look more professional in your Shopify store.
In this article you will learn:
- How to Customize products in the Import List
- How to Customize products in the Shopify Admin
Customizing Products in the Import List
After you add the product to the Import List, you can customize it on the Import List page before publishing into the Shopify store. Go to the Product, Description, Variants, Images tabs to customize the product according to your needs.
To move the product to your Shopify store, click "Import to store".
You can change the product title, add it to Shopify collections, set the product type or assign tags. Take note that only manual Shopify collections are shown in the drop-down as products to the automatic collections are assigned automatically. Collections, types and tags help organize the products better in the Shopify store.
If you want to check the original product listing, click on "View original product".
Use the editor to edit product description, add images or insert links if needed.
On the Variants tab, you can rename SKUs, variant names, manually set the product price. On the Profit section you will see the potential profit you will get selling this product.
Here you can also deselect variants that you do not want to sell and see how much inventory the supplier has for each variant.
In addition, at the top you will see a notification with the suggested price for the product. This price depends on the product category and the price that other Oberlo users are selling the product at.
Oberlo by default imports a few images, therefore, here you can select more images you would like to add to the product. Take note that after you publish the product in your Shopify store, it may take some time until all images are uploaded.
Customizing Products in the Shopify Admin
After the product is published in the Shopify store, you can only customize it in Shopify admin. There is no way to transfer pushed products back to the Import List.
You can find all your products on the "Products" page.
In Shopify, you can customize these specifics:
-Edit website SEO
There are some specifics, which can be customized in bulk. Select several products and click "Edit products" or "Actions" button for more customization possibilities.

Customizing Actions That Do Not Work With Oberlo
There are some actions, that you cannot do in Shopify as they will break the sync with the product, and your orders will no longer appear in Oberlo.
Imported products are synced by the back-end code, however, the actions below disable the product sync:
-Duplicating the product
-Adding variants manually
-Deleting all product variants without leaving any
-Exporting and Importing products via a CSV
