Understand the product pricing details

Before you start adjusting your prices, check the following table that overviews the main pricing details.

Pricing detail

Description

Product cost

It’s the original product price that you pay to the AliExpress supplier for your product.

Product price

It's the amount of how much you charge for your product in your online store.

Product compare at price

It’s an artificial product sale that you can create in your online store.

Cents

It’s your product price formatting value. For example, you can add .99 cents, and your product price is displayed as 7.99.

Adjust your product prices using pricing rules

You can configure pricing rules to automatically adjust your product prices according to the rules you set. You can also set the compare at price to create artificial sales, set up advanced pricing rules for even more customization, and assign cents to your product prices.

There are two different types of pricing rules that you can add.

  • Multiplier - multiplies the product cost by the number you specify. For example, a product that costs 2 USD with a multiplier of 3 is priced at 6 USD in your Shopify store.

  • Fixed - adds a fixed amount to the product cost. For example, a product that costs 2 USD with a fixed increase of 3 is priced at 5 USD in your Shopify store.

Add a pricing rule

If you want to adjust your product prices in bulk and update new product prices automatically, then you need to add a pricing rule.

Steps:

  1. From your Oberlo admin, click Settings > Pricing rules.

  2. In the Product price section, select MULTIPLIER or FIXED pricing rule type.

  3. Add an amount to your pricing rule.

  4. Click SAVE SETTINGS.

After you create your pricing rules, you need to apply your pricing rules to your existing products.

Add a compare at price rule

You can set a Compare at price rule to simulate product sales in your Shopify store. For example, if a product cost is 10 USD and you set the Product price multiplier to 3, then this product is listed at 30 USD in your online store. If you set the Compared at price multiplier to 6, then the product appears in your Shopify store with a cost reduction from 60 USD.

Steps:

  1. From your Oberlo admin, click Settings > Pricing rules.

  2. Enable Set your compare at pricing rules by clicking the toggle button.

  3. In the Compare at price section, select MULTIPLIER or FIXED pricing rule type.

  4. Add an amount to your compare at price. The Compare at price needs to be higher or equal to the product price.

  5. Click SAVE SETTINGS.
