Some product editing features in Shopify aren’t compatible with Oberlo. When you edit products and product variants in your Shopify admin you can disconnect your product or unmap variants from Oberlo. Orders with disconnected products or unmapped variants don’t show up in Oberlo. You need to reconnect your products and remap product variants to Oberlo.

Reasons why your products get disconnected and variants unmapped from Oberlo

You disconnect your product from Oberlo when you make the following actions in your Shopify admin:

  • You duplicate your product in Shopify admin.

  • You export your products and then import them back using a CSV file.

  • You use a third-party app that modifies your product in Shopify admin.

You unmap your product variants from Oberlo when you make the following actions in your Shopify admin:

  • You manually create or edit product variants.

  • You use a third-party app that modifies your product variants in Shopify admin.


Check your product and product variant connection

You can check whether your product is connected and your variants are mapped to Oberlo.

Steps:

  1. Check if your Shopify product is connected to Oberlo:

    1. From your Shopify admin, go to Products.

    2. Click a product that you want to check.

    3. Click More actions, and then click Open original product. If you can't access your original AliExpress product, then your product is disconnected from Oberlo.

  2. Check if your product variants are mapped to Oberlo:

    1. From your Oberlo admin, click Products.

    2. Click the product that you want to check.

    3. Click MANAGE VARIANTS.

    4. If there are any unmapped variants, then they show up in the Unmapped Shopify variants section.


Remap your product variants to Oberlo

To remap your product variants to Oberlo, you need to map the unmapped Shopify product variants to the corresponding AliExpress product variants.

Before you start, review the following considerations of how this affects your Shopify product and your orders:

  • If you have any orders that contain unmapped product variants and you remap product variants, then your orders will show up in Oberlo. For example, if you have an order that contains the Yellow unmapped product variant, and you remap this variant, then your order will show up in Oberlo and you will be able to place it.

  • Shopify product ID, URL, and statistics don’t change. If you use Google or Facebook channels, then your product listing isn’t affected.

  • Product variant details such as title, description, images remain the same in Shopify.

  • Product variants price is set according to your Pricing rules settings. You can adjust the product variant price manually in your Shopify admin.

Steps:

  1. From your Oberlo admin, click Products.

  2. Click a product that you want to remap variants.

  3. Click MANAGE VARIANTS.

  4. In the Unmapped Shopify variants section, select an AliExpress product and the corresponding variants for each unmapped product variant.

  5. Click SAVE.


Reconnect your products to Oberlo

To reconnect your Shopify product to Oberlo you need to import your Shopify product to Oberlo and then map Shopify product variants to the corresponding AliExpress product variants.

Before you start, review the following considerations of how this affects your Shopify product and your orders:

  • Shopify product ID, URL, and statistics remain the same.

  • Shopify product’s inventory management settings are changed to the Oberlo app location.

  • Shopify product’s prices, availability, and inventory are updated based on your auto updates settings.

  • Your unfulfilled orders that contain your reconnected product are automatically synced to Oberlo. If your order didn’t show up in Oberlo, because your product was disconnected from Oberlo, now your order will show up and you’ll be able to place it.

Steps:

  1. Find a replacement product and copy the product URL from your browser’s bar.

  2. From your Oberlo admin, click Products, and then click IMPORT FROM SHOPIFY.

  3. In the Import Shopify product to Oberlo window, click SELECT next to the product that you want to reconnect to Oberlo. This window shows only Shopify products that are disconnected from Oberlo.

  4. In the AliExpress Products field, paste the URL of the product that you want to connect to your existing Shopify product.

  5. In the Unmapped Shopify variants section, select the AliExpress product variants to connect them to the corresponding Shopify product variants.

  6. Click SAVE.
