If you want to change your product's supplier, then you can do one of the following actions:
Override your product to change your whole product with a product from another supplier.
Map your product variants to change specific product variants with product variants from another supplier.
Override your product to change your whole product with a product from another supplier for current orders only.
You might want to change your product's supplier when you find the same product but cheaper or when your product runs out of stock.
On this page:
Change your product's supplier
If you want to change your product’s supplier, then you can override your product to replace your existing product with a product from another supplier. When you override your product, then your product’s URL and statistics remain the same in Shopify, however, if you use Google or Facebook sales channels, then your product ID changes.
During the product override, you can update the product details, pricing, and images. Your existing product variants are restored to their defaults for each product that you override. If you need to make any changes, then edit your variants in the Import List before confirming the override.
Find a replacement product and copy the product URL from your browser’s bar.
From your Oberlo admin, click Products.
Click the product that you want to change, and then click OVERRIDE.
In the Override with field, paste the replacement product URL.
Check if you want to override the title, description, and images.
Optional: If you have any open orders with the old product that haven't been placed yet, then select the new variant that matches the product. Then click OVERRIDE.
Click IMPORT AND OVERRIDE.
Change your product variant's supplier
If you want to change your product variant with a product variant from another supplier, then you can connect another AliExpress product to your Shopify product and map product variants.
For example, if your supplier runs out of one product variant, then you can map it with the same product but from a different supplier who offers that variant.
When you change the supplier for an existing product variant, then Oberlo sets its price according to your Pricing rules settings. You can adjust the product variant price manually in your Shopify admin.
If you make changes to product variants that are present in your orders, then these variants are also updated in your orders that are in the To order status.
From your Oberlo admin, go to Products.
Click the product that you want to change.
In the AliExpress Products section, click MANAGE VARIANTS.
In the AliExpress Products field, paste the URL of the replacement product that you want to connect with your existing product.
In the AliExpress product and AliExpress variant (cost) columns change the product and its variants to the new product and product variants.
Change your product's supplier for current orders only
Note: This feature is available only on the Boss plan. To get access to this feature, consider upgrading your Oberlo plan.
You can change your product's supplier for current orders while keeping your original supplier for future orders. You can only override orders that are in the To order status. When you override products for current orders, then it doesn't affect your original product. The product URL, title, description, and images remain the same. Any future orders that you receive will use the original supplier.
For example, let's say a new supplier runs a sale on a product that you usually purchase from a different supplier. You can override your existing orders to use this new supplier and take advantage of the sale, but keep your original supplier for future orders after the sale ends.
Find a product to replace the existing product and add it to your Shopify store.
Go to the Orders page in Oberlo.
Next to the product that you want to override, click OVERRIDE.
In the Override with field, enter the title of the new product.
In the Variant field, select the corresponding variant.
Check if to apply this change to all unfulfilled orders.
Click OVERRIDE PRODUCT.
