Customers from the European Union (EU) and the European Economic Area (EEA) can request access or request to erase their personal data that your online store holds.

If you receive such a request, then you can request a report of your customer's data or request to erase it from Shopify and Oberlo. Before, making any actions make sure to verify your requester's identity.

Request access to your customer's data

To get a report of your customer's private data you need to request it in your Shopify admin and then download the report from the GDPR reports section in your Oberlo admin. Reports are deleted automatically after 30 days.

Steps:

  1. From your Shopify admin, click Customers.

  2. Click the name of your customer that you want to request the data report.

  3. In the Customer privacy section, click Request customer data.

  4. From your Oberlo admin, click Settings > GDPR reports.

  5. Click Download report next to the customer you want to get the data report. The report is downloaded to your device.


Request to erase your customer's data

To erase your customer's private data from Shopify and Oberlo you need to request the personal data erasure in your Shopify admin.

Steps:

  1. From your Shopify admin, click Customers.

  2. Click the name of your customer that you want to erase private data.

  3. In the Customer privacy section, click Erase personal data.

  4. Click Erase personal data.

After your customer's data is erased from Oberlo and Shopify you receive an email. If you remove the Oberlo app from your Shopify admin, then after 30 days Oberlo starts automatically erasing your customer's personal data from Obelro.
